Back To The Future Box SetsHome >Introduction Back To The Future is a popular trilogy of movies, which were made in the 1980's and 1990. Produced by Steven Spielberg, they represented another feather in his cap, and cemented his reputation for creating some of the highest ever grossing movies. The plot surrounds Marty McFly, a teenager from 1985, who befriends a eccentric scientist by the name of Doc Brown. The viewer soon discovers that the Doc has created a time machine, which is also a DeLorean DMC-12. Marty is accidentally sent back in time to the 1950's, and meets a younger Doc Brown, his mother and father, and needs to find a way back home without effecting the course of history.
Back To The Future was a box office hit, has remained popular and has aged well. A treat for all the family. Back To The Future Reviewsmike Said, I will confess to being a back to the future nut. This film is one from my childhood and has maintained the same magic every time I have watched it. Surprisingly, its only recently I watched the complete trilogy, I had only ever owned the original movie. I found part 2 and 3 enjoyable, but are really a pale shadow of the original. They don't add anything new, and seem a cynical money spinning reworking of the first movie. I would liken them to Spielbergs follow-on films of Jurassic Park. Neither proved that successful. However, the first movie is a joy, from the opening scene with the clocks, the 'power of love' soundtrack as Marty rides into town, terrific. The pace of the movie is perfect as well, it never drags, it excites and entertains, the music is good, and there are the occasional jokes. All in all a must see movie for the family, ideal for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I've yet to see any family movies equal Back to the Future, they can keep all their fancy special effects, this has the X factor.
